Elizabeth Gaffney

Elizabeth Gaffney practises predominantly in the field of commercial disputes, estates, personal injuries and family law. Since her call to the Bar in 2011, Elizabeth has worked with leading Queen’s Counsel in significant Supreme Court claims and appeals.

Resources and construction disputes make up a large part of Elizabeth’s practice. She has acted for shareholders claiming increased interests in the Lake Vermont coal mine, represented Wiggins Island Coal Export Terminal in a claim concerning offshore infrastructure and acted for Tri-Star Petroleum Company in a dispute concerning the ownership of coal seam gas assets in Queensland.

Elizabeth is able to draw on her experience as a solicitor in leading Australian and Irish firms, and as in-house counsel at Arrow Energy Limited. Elizabeth holds an Honours degree in Law from the Queensland University of Technology. She was admitted as a Legal Practitioner in 1997. A detailed curriculum vitae is available on request.
